Members of the City of Christchurch Ladies Highland Pipe Band competing at a "C" grade contest in Timaru /5th/6th March 1955. There are no ladies pipe bands left in New Zealand now. Ladies Highland Pipe Band on a sponsored walk to Ashburton

Members of The City of Christchurch Ladies Highland Pipe Band on a sponsored march hopefully to Ashburton. They got as far as Norwood and the blisters would not let them go any further. They were very pleased with their effort. Beverly Millar as Drum Major and Margaret Geddes Pipe Major.

Ladies Highland Pipe Band World Record March, 1958

Cover image for booklet for the City of Christchurch Ladies Highland Pipe Band sponsored march hopefully to Ashburton [ca 89 kms]. They got as far as Norwood [ca 40 kms] and the blisters would not let them go any further. They were very pleased with their effort.
