My aunt, Joyce Macaulay, aged about 20 in Christchurch ca. 1939. Joyce became a registered nurse & matron at Whangarei Hospital and taught nursing at Christchurch Hospital. Reverse shows message, addressee. Upsidedown green halfpenny stamp. Inscription: This space may be used for communications in N.Z. or the British Empire. Gold Medal Series No. 56 issued in Christchurch, N.Z. (protected)
