A Highways Transport Leyland truck carrying a load of petrol in 44 gallon drums

circa 1930

Prior to this, petrol was supplied in ten gallon tins and transported in wooden crates. The truck is outside the Paraparaumu Railway Station ready to replenish the hand-operated petrol pumps.
