The M.E.D. Building is shown at the centre of this photo, on the corner of Armagh and Manchester Streets, Christchurch, in 1939. Looking to the right up Manchester Street the Christchurch City Council Building and the Civic Theatre can be seen. Behind the M.E.D. on Gloucester Street, the four story 3YA Building and Transmission Tower can also be seen. In the foreground is the Avon River and the Band Rotunda.
