Removal of Christchurch Garden City sign

1 June 1990

"Christchurch, the Garden City - the city that shines" sign being removed from the corner of Harper Avenue and Fendalton Road. Botanic Gardens carpenter, David Borrie is shown directing the sign into a council truck. The sign was removed just 10 days after it was installed.

Adpost employee, Peter Scott with letters

1 December 1989

Mr Peter Scott, an employee of Adpost with 'lazy letters', a personal invitation, delivered to Christchurch homes to which residents write the address of out-of-towners to invite them to visit the city during the summer. The promotion ran as part of the Going for Goals programme with 120,000 letters delivered to Christchurch homes.
