A Kitson steam tram runs past the Government Buildings
1927
As at 2003 the Tramway Historical Society at Ferrymead holds the original drawings from which these wagons were constructed, also the underframes and wheels from three of these wagons. This type of wagon was used for the construction of the roadway section of the McCormacks Bay causeway. The wire mesh hides the two water tanks on the roof. The Kitson came from Leeds.

Tramway extension in Cathedral Square - Early February 2011

Tramway extension in Cathedral Square. Note the ANZ/BNZ/TSB bank buildings. Either demolished or still standing? In any case, you can see as to how well this project was going. Indeed, the rails were to join up with those already in Cathedral Square, at the "junction" (if you will) behind the Cathedral. The rails with be the next item to go down.
