Grafted Heritage Fruit Varieties

At Kaputone Community Orchard. Volunteers planting more heritage fruit trees (mainly apples) at the orchard.  Many of the apples have wonderful names such as Broxwood Foxwhelp, (a cider apple), Worcester Pearmain, Belle de Booskoop.

The Stanley Homestead, Broadway Orchard, Harewood

The home of John & Mary Stanley at Broadway Orchard in Harewood (later renamed Shenley Orchard). They arrived on the ship Randolph to Canterbury and settled in Harewood. Pictured are: Edith Stanley (left), John Stanley (seated), Martha & Rosa Stanley & grandson William Henry Stanley.
