"My Aunty Daphne Marker in her room at the Upper Sanatorium (Cashmere). She was known for her pet birds and her very fine knitting. She used bike spokes and piano wires to knit with and she won all the knitting prizes at the industries fairs. No one could match her. Born 6 November 1925, died 21 July 1958." - Contributor's note

Commonwealth Games opening ceremony
