Toilet soap, 2 for 18c = 100g for 6c ( tablets of toilet soap in those days were standardized at 150g). Today's online special at Countdown Nth Island only, works out at 100g for $1.19 - nearly 20 times the price. And THAT'S on special.... Given the fiddly present size of soap tablets (which at 85g across manufacturers) seems to be heading for Motel size - sufficient for one-day use only. Also, the tablets are sculpted to disguise their puny size when wrapped. This has become common for just about everything else these days. I suppose in this instance, if pressed the makers would say the funny shape is to prevent you dropping them in the shower and the smaller wrappers are designed to help save the forests.................
