Watching TV after a family tea

29 March 1979

A family watching tv after finishing dinner.
Contributor's note: "Watching TV after a family tea. Phillips K9 TV on a rotating base. Record rack with cassettes on top. Dried arrangement on top of TV. Home-made wooden engine on the floor. My niece sitting on an inflatable humpty at a wooden table made at school woodworking classes by my brother (wearing a striped tank top!) Bold 70s pattern wallpaper."

Highly commended: 2013 Christchurch City Libraries Photo Hunt.

Judge's comment: "The images give us a real sense of how the family lived their life. It was interesting to see what events were chosen as important moments, holidays, snow, learning to ride a bike, the simple pleasures of sharing a meal or a BBQ and family interactions in their lounge."
