18 April 2015
The Hornby War memorial, originally an artesian pump, was erected in 1921 in the form of a wall for the people of Hornby and Islington who lost their lives in the World War I. It is situated in the grounds of the Hornby Primary School and had World War II soldiers added. In 2008 the names of those soldiers from Hornby who perished in all conflicts were added.
