South Korean sister city garden at Halswell Quarry Park, 2001. Gardens representing each of Christchurch's sister cities - Christchurch, U.K.,Songpa-Gu, South Korea, Adelaide, Australia, Kurashiki, Japan, Gansu Province & Wuhan, China, Seattle, U.S.A. - were officially opened on 17 February 2001. Songpa-Gu in South Korea donated two handsome totem poles to mark the entrance to their garden.

Leah Fraser-Henderson holding Kia Ora

Sculptor Leah Fraser-Henderson created this work as a gift to Songpa-Gu, Christchurch's sister city in South Korea, as part of the sister city gardens project.The sculpture entitled "Kia Ora" features a face of stainless steel mounted on a slab of Halswell stone.
