Cashfields Building, Cashel Mall

1985

The Cashfields building, designed by England Brothers, was built in around 1909/10 for the DIC (Drapery Importing Company) to replace the previous building destroyed by Fire in 1908. In 1978 following DIC's merger with Beaths department store next door, the building was sold to Paynter and Hamilton who developed it as a retail mall extending from Cashel through to Lichfield street. The building was demolished following the 2010/2011 earthquakes.
