Late 1940s or early 1950s. This is a photo of my Great Grandfather, Jack Mawson. The horse he is on is pulling a replica of the world's first reaper. I think this was a parade associated with the Canterbury A & P show. The photo was taken on Hereford Street. In the background is the Occidental Hotel which was demolished following the February 2011 earthquake. An historian would probably be able to provide dates for the tractors and possibly the photograph,
