This 300m long jetty in Governors Bay was built in 1874. It's the same length as New Brighton Pier, but made of wood and is close to the water. Sadly, it was closed in 2011 because it's unsafe. A group of determined volunteers have been working to save the jetty by restoring it for future generations to enjoy. We hope to reopen it before the end of 2020.
