Under the bridge

24 September 2019

"Christchurch is not only a home to many, it is also a place without a home for many. The homeless population of New Zealand appears to be growing, but the life of those who are homeless remains a mystery to many. This is a photo of someone's makeshift bed underneath a bridge in the city's CBD, surrounded by items that betray a life of agony. I hope this photo can be used to help all people to begin to understand the gravity of this issue; and, perhaps, inspire them to think a little differently when they witness a fellow Christchurch citizen dwelling in a life of poverty." - Contributor's note
