"Photo taken early 1950 at 358 Tuam Street, Christchurch. House located at Fitzgerald Ave end of Tuam Street. The city population resided within the 4 belts (Avenues). This man had 4 children under 5 years. The twins are wearing knitted suits, booties and rompers, over their napkins. The girls are wearing hand sewn smocked dresses tied at the waist with a sash. The identical twins were a premature birth and one spent up to a year in Burwood Hospital on and off for plastic surgery. They were distinguished by having a birthmark on forehead and the other one on the nape of his neck." - Contributor's note
