Sunderland family at Corsair Bay

Sunderland family at Corsair Bay
"A Sunderland family photo at Corsair Bay. The woman in the black swimming cap was the only person who owned a box brownie camera. Its thanks to her our family had early photos, her daughter is front right. Christchurch families either walked or bused to the Christchurch railway station to catch the Christchurch-Lyttelton train. Then families either walked or caught the launch to Corsair bay. Families walked if money was short for that week. It took over an hour to arrive at Corsair. Some families bused from the suburbs to the railway station." - Contributor's note
