"Mother and son at Corsair Bay. On the back of the original photo was written " I look a sight in these swimming trunks and the kid looks half starved sitting beside my size" (iconic language). This woman was a suffragette, a feminist, was active in politics and was a licensed Spiritual Minister so could bury the dead ad celebrate marriage. After so many men were killed in World War 1 many people turned to Spiritualism to try and bring back the "spirit" of those who had died so young. Many people never got to High School but she was a voracious reader, a political speaker and politically active." - Contributor's note
