Girl on a rocking horse
Girl on a rocking horse
"Ida was number six in a family of 8. Born in Masham, now called Yaldhurst. She is is sitting on a wooden rocking horse. Her eldest sister was 12 years older so by 1923 her sister was working at the Aulsebrook Factory, that made chocolates and lollies, on the corner of Montreal and Moorehouse. Her big sister had a camera, which was a luxury item and the family are very fortunate to have photos such as this. Ida's parents would have bought the horse for older siblings and Ida inherited it. This photo is nearly 100 years old. The Duke of York later King George VI visited Auslebrooks in 1927 with Queen Elizabeth, later the Queen Mother." - Contributor's note
