Statue dedicated to Wm. Sefton Moorhouse in the Christchurch Botanical Gardens.

The inscription reads "To whose energy and perseverance Canterbury owes the tunnel between the port and the plains"

On the right side the inscription reads " Born 1825 Died 1881"

On the left side the inscription reads " Superintendent 1858-62 . 1866-68"
