Masons preparing stone for the Memorial Church Tai Tapu
"Alexander Suttie and stonemasons at Tai Tapu Church. The photo was taken of my great grandfather Alexander Suttie while helping to build the Tai Tapu Church. He was a stonemason and also helped to build the Sign of the Takahe building on Cashmere Hill. His signature is one of the group retained on a wall downstairs in the Takahe building. The photo has been passed down through the family and I recently had it reframed. The names of the stonemasons are hand written on the lower frame of the photo. Stonemasons (from left to right in image) - Donald McBain, C. Rennell, A. Suttie, A. Beare" - Contributor's note
