Kate Sheppard Memorial
The Kate Sheppard National Memorial on the day after Suffrage Day.
The memorial is a large cast bronze depiction of women in New Zealand, flagged by two bronze plaques inscribed with the history of the Women’s Suffrage movement in New Zealand, mounted on a upright ornate concrete plinth. It was sculpted in 1993 by Margriet Windhausen. The memorial features 6 suffragettes: Meri Te Tai Mangakahia, Helen Nicol, Kate Sheppard, Ada Wells, Harriet Morison and Amey Daldy.
