Bob Bradford Winter Garden Orchestra
Bob Bradford Winter Garden Orchestra
My father was Bob Bradford who was the founder & leader of the Winter Gardens Orchestra which played there in the 1960’s & 1970’s. Many company balls & débutante balls were held there & there was also a Cabaret on Saturday nights. I always remember going into the Winter Gardens at the weekends to help Dad set up the bandstands, music etc & also being allowed to polish the piano. The music they played was from the big band era, e.g. Glenn Miller & Duke Ellington. The band also performed at the James Hay Theatre & also did stints on Telethons when they were on TV.
