Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip, Princess Anne were in Christchurch for the 1974 Commonwealth Games. They were staying on the Royal Brittania in Lyttelton.

My father Geoffrey Adams was a long time Borough Councillor and on the Commonwealth Games committee.He and my mother Janice Adams are in the background of this photo. They met the Queen and her family.
