Farming in the 1930’s

1930's

My grandfather farmed in the Harewood district most of his life and hay stacks were made using pitch forks.
Note the water was contained in old urns which helped to keep the contents cool.
My cousin is also pictured and as a young lad was required to help with the farm chores.
