Singer Sewing Machine Staff 1895
Frederick William Orchard- extreme right middle row (married Elizabeth Victoria de Malmanche on 24-4-1878.) Born Middlesex England 1855. Arrived in NZ 1874, aged 19. Did embroidery 1895 while working at Singer Sewing Co. for each of his 4 daughters. Later occupation: surgical instrument maker. Made the 1st glass topped operating table for Christchurch hospital.
