Contributor’s note: “This collage shows the recently opened new/rebuilt Governors Bay Jetty and the old jetty that was damaged in the 2011 earthquake. The new jetty photo was taken in early October 2023 and the old jetty photo was taken in approx January 2023. If this photo wins a prize I would like to donate it to the Governors Bay Jetty Trust Secretary (Louisa Eades) who gave so much time and effort working as part of the Trust Board to fundraise and liaise with the local community, stakeholders and others to have the jetty rebuilt. Without Louisa's efforts and those of other Trust Board members, this would never have happened. We owe them all a debt of gratitude, and Louisa especially. I would encourage Christchurch people to visit the jetty for a lovely walk/day out.
