Contributor’s note: “Taken at the Indoor Ice Skating Rink. Centaurus Road, Cashmere, Christchurch. Now replaced by Torvill and Dean Lane. Picture taken in November, 1954. Part of an Ice Rinks Christchurch, presentation called London Ahoy when the skaters visited various countries on their way to London. In this Photo it was Switzerland. The item was called The Ocarina and was performed to the song "The Ocarina,". It is interesting to note that in those early days of the Centaurus Rink the rinks open all year”.
