Deceased Sperm Whale at South Brighton Beach, Christchurch 2023
On Saturday the 4th of November 2023, a sperm whale was stranded on the ocean side of a sandbar out from South Brighton Surf Club. It died late that evening. The photo was taken the following day when the tide was high. At low tide, the whale was moved and buried under the dunes.
