Sperm Whale Burial Site at South Brighton, Christchurch

On Saturday the 4th of November 2023, a 15m long male sperm whale was stranded on the ocean side of a sandbar out from South Brighton Surf Club, however died. The following evening the whale was moved and buried beneath dunes.
