Scoreboard at the Commonwealth Games held at Queen Elizabeth II Park showing the results for the 1500 metres men race.

Contributor’s note: “First – Filbert Bayi Tanzania, Second – John Walker NZ, Third – Ben Jipcho Kenya, Fourth – Rod Dixon NZ. Both Bayi and Walker broke the world record. The third, fourth and fifth place getters ran the fourth, fifth and seventh fastest 1500 metre times to that date. Five national records were broken.”
