This photo was taken on the south side of the Catholic Cathedral with the girls of St Joseph's Cathedral School and the 3rd Catholic Bishop of Christchurch, Bishop Lyons. He was an Australian Prelate loaned to the Catholic Diocese in 1944. He was succeeded by Bishop Joyce who had served overseas as a military chaplain during WWII.
