Phillipstown Kindergarten Fair
Phillipstown Kindergarten Fair
These children are dressed up for a fancy dress competition. The girl is a “Harem Girl”, the twin boys are dressed as a “Coster Boy” and “Drummer Boy” respectively. Phillipstown Kindergarten was conducted along the lines of an English Nursery School until the late 1950s. It is one of the oldest surviving Kindergartens in Christchurch.
