Merivale property
Merivale property
Image in an album of a Merivale property owned by John Thomas Peacock. A variety of unidentified people are visible in the foreground.
Contributors note” “From an album I was given a few years ago named Merivale, Christchurch. An album of photos of the property. I believe it was made in about 1882 as the book binder was J. T. Smith and Co, Christchurch. There are 21 photos of the estate that was originally had 50 acres. Subdivided over the years the house remained at 31 Naseby Street in Merivale until it was demolished in 2019. John Thomas Peacock was the owner of the house at this time and there is a fountain in the photograph. This information was sourced from the album, google and CCC Library staff. (James and college).”
