Quail Island
A view of Ōtamahua/Quail Island, taken during a guided walk by the New Zealand Antarctic Society as part of the 2025 Walking Festival. The guide discussed the use of the island as a quarantine station for the sled dogs and other animals for Antarctic expeditions. Road cones are visible stacked on a lamppost in the foreground.
