Windmill on Marshland Road

Windmill on Marshland Road
This windmill, now proudly displayed on the Netherlands Society Christchurch grounds at 637 Marshland Road, started its life as Shag Reef Range 2—a Light Beacon at the entrance to Lyttleton Harbour. The light beacon was dismantled and donated to the Netherlands Society by the Newman family. John Jones Steel, in collaboration with the Netherlands Society, then transformed it into this amazing 12-meter-tall windmill.
