Traffic in Cathedral Square

About 1950 to about 1951

A bus destined for Mays Road, parked in Cathedral Square, with a pram hooked to its front. Various buildings and businesses are visible in the background, including Grand Theatre, Crystal Palace, Colonial Mutual, The Strand and Dominion Building.

Contributors note: "1950s view of a corner of Cathedral Square Christchurch, showing buildings including the Colonial Mutual, The Strand. Around the corner, one of the movie theatre advertisements is for a French movie made in 1950 called ‘Gunman in the Streets’. The photo shows a Mays Rd bus, with people on board, and a pram hooked on the front, various cars parked and driving."
