The Consecration of the “Dormition of the Virgin Mary” Romanian Orthodox Church in Christchurch

His Grace Bishop Mihail, the Bishop of Australia and New Zealand, surrounded by a group of priests from New Zealand, consecrated the “Dormition of the Virgin Mary” Church in Christchurch, which bears the patronal feasts: “The Dormition of the Virgin Mary”, “The Entry of the Mother of God into the Temple,” and “Saint Gregory the Teacher, Metropolitan of Wallachia”. The event, which clothed the Romanian parish in festive attire, was attended by central and local officials, including the Mayor of Christchurch, Phil Mauger, and Dr. Duncan Webb, as well as Romanian Orthodox faithful and members of various ethnic communities residing in New Zealand.
