A view of Cathedral Square before the Government Buildings were erected
Until the early 1900s tram sheds and offices occupied much of the southern area of the Worcester Street boundary of the Square, also J. Dale & Co., land and commission agents. On the right of the photograph is The Press building built 1909, designed by Collins, with the building of H.F. Stevens, wholesale druggist, built in 1906, next to it. On the left of the photograph is the Dalgety building, built in 1898, designed by R.W. England
