QEII Earthquake Memorial Gathering
On the 1st anniversary of the 22nd February earthquake a group comprising of QEII Earlybirds Club members, local community members and some ex QEII staff gathered in the place they miss the most. It was a lovely remembrance where everyone held hands in a big circle, a few words were spoken and a minute’s silence for our city and people we lost. QEII was the second home to many in this group and its’ loss meant the loss of daily routine, exercise, physical and mental wellbeing, companionship and the community’s focal point.
