Municipal Electricity Department (MED) staff in 1930
Municipal Electricity Department (MED) staff in 1930
Municipal Electricity Department (MED), Manchester Street, Central Christchurch. Staff photo in 1930. MED was the electricity section of the Christchurch City Council. At that time they had about 200 trucks run by batteries. Maybe the MED was one of the first organizations in New Zealand to have a large fleet of electrically driven vehicles . Not such a new invention after all.
