Approach to Gayhurst Road bridge after earthquakes

10 March 2012

The land adjacent to the Gayhurst Road end of the bridge sank significantly after the earthquakes, so that the approach to the bridge had to be built up and repaired several times. The sharp change in gradient was deceptive, and took many drivers by surprise.
