Crew of the Nimrod waving goodbye to the Koonya
The Koonya was supplied by the Union Steamship Company to tow the Nimrod as far as it could in order to preserve the latter's coal supplies. Half of the cost of this was met by the N. Z. Government and half by the Union Steamship Company.
