271 Cambridge Terrace, Christchurch

1940s

My father's first car, a singer I think, parked outside my maternal grandmother's rented house 271 Cambridge Terrace. The building alongside is the Theosophical Society and Liberal Catholic Church of St. Francis. The new Margaret Mahy playground is opposite of the riverbank. The photo would have been taken between 1940 and 1942 before my parent's married. I spent many happy hours in this house and environs until the early 1960s.
