Hunting on the Denniston/Stockton Area

1940s

This depicts a culture of hunting in the rugged out-back mountains of the NZ West Coast in the Denniston-Stockton Plateau area. It was/is an acceptable culture to hunt wild food to feed the family. My family are from the area and this was taken from a successful hunting trip.
