Clive Marks alias Tom Thumb at the Christchurch City Council Children's Christmas Party, 1945
Christchurch City Council held a Christmas party for Christchurch children after the war finished. I was selected as Tom Thumb, to be picked up outside the Christchurch Cathedral in the square and travel by horse & carriage to the Wentworth Dance Hall in Hereford Street where the party took place. Tha backgound in the photo shows the original Hereford St post office (93 Hereford St). I sat beside Sir Earnest Davies who was Mayor of Christchurch.
