The Star Christmas party

Maud Burn, resident at Golden Age Rest Home and attendee of classes at the Aged Peoples Welfare Council cutting a Christmas cake at the Star Christmas party at the Captain's Table restaurant at Christchurch Airport. Helping Maud is the Star's promotional manager, Fred Hollingworth. The event is part of the Star's annual Christmas outing for the elderly.

Cakes for Air New Zealand 50th birthday

30 April 1990

Catering staff for Air New Zealand, Paula Thorpe and Tony Som holding up large cakes to celebrate the 50th birthday of the airline. In the background is the exterior of a branded Air New Zealand aeroplane. Over 20,000 slices of cake were provided to staff and travellers during the celebrations.

I remember that cake taking up our whole kitchen table, while my mum created it. It was pretty impressive.

125 Jubilee of the Sydenham Heritage Church

A great celebration for the 125 Jubilee of the church with many former people from the previous Methodist congregation attending. A cake was cut and the past was remembered over many cups of tea.
