Liquefaction removal efforts, Avonside
Liquefaction removal efforts, Avonside
After the Feb 2011 earthquake, Avonside residents spent days digging tons of liquefaction silt off their sections & piling it up in metres-high hills along the road, ready for collection & removal by contractors. This photo shows the lower (southern) end of Keller Street. Note chair & beer bottles on the hill at centre of picture - clearly somebody must have decided to take a wee break after all their backbreaking work!
