'Student Army' & 'Farmy Army' to the rescue
'Student Army' & 'Farmy Army' to the rescue
University of Canterbury students united with farmers and rural contractors to help Avonside residents dig their way out of liquefaction silt yet again, following 13 June 2011 earthquake. Here the team are tackling the latest half-metre-deep layer of silt surrounding my flat at 58A Keller Street. Their assistance was extremely welcome, as we were pretty exhausted by that stage (& in my case, still had nerve injuries in my elbows following all-day liquefaction digging & hauling efforts back in February).
